I love my furling jib. I keep a class legal racing jib but for family sails it is super convenient around the launch dock. The foredeck stays uncluttered and there is no reason to go forward of the mast. Single handed sailing? Yes! I love to ghost through the harbor at twilight in solitary peace and quiet. When a gust kicks up I can easily furl the jib. I don’t reef the jib as one might on a bigger boat’s headstay foil mounted furler. I don’t thinks its built for reefing. A sailmaker can also build a furling jib that has a bigger overlap and better light air performance, don’t ask me how I know…
