The boom crutch is used to support the boom when the mainsail is not up.  It goes through a plate on the deck and nests into a socket on the floor.  In the newer boats there are three positions for the boom crutch – one just off center in the aft deck and one on each seat.  The seat positions allow you to lower your mainsail and rest the boom into the boom crutch without it interfering with the movement of the tiller.

Please note: We have removed the boom crutch fork to save you shipping cost by shortening the length of the box. To reassemble the boom crutch, push the boom crutch fork into the boom crutch tube.
